This Policy explains how and why Airview, Inc. (“Airview”, “we” or “us”) collects, uses and shares information about you when you use our website, mobile app and emails (collectively, the “Services”) or when you otherwise interact with us or receive a communication from us.
We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Which is why we collect minimal information. Any data we collect is used primarily to provide our Services, which are focused on allowing people to come together. We don't sell your personal data to third parties, and we never work with data brokers.
This Policy covers our Airview app. When you read "Services" in this Policy, we’re talking about all of them. Also, if you see us refer to our "Terms," we mean the Terms of Use that you agree to when you sign up for our Services.

Information We Collect
This section provides you with details on what information we collect. We’ve organized this in a few categories: information you provide to us, information we generate based on your use of our Services, and information we receive from others. Sometimes, we may also collect additional information, with your permission.
When you use our Services, we collect information you provide to us, generate information when you use our Services, and in some cases receive data from others. Let’s break these down in more detail.
Information You Provide
Our Services require you to set up an account. To do this, we ask you to provide us with account details (information about you, like your name, username, email address and birthday). When you set up your profile, you can also provide us with optional profile details (like your profile picture). We also store your user account preferences and settings.
Of course, you’ll also provide us with the information you send through within our Services. We consider some of this information to be private content and communications (like messages you send and receive). On the other end of the spectrum, some of the information you send through within our Services may be public content that is accessible to everyone such as your name, your username, your profile picture, content you create (such as text posts, comments and replies) and, content you provide through our camera feature or your camera roll settings. Keep in mind that users who view your created content, messages, and any other content, can always screenshot that content, save it, or copy it outside the Airview app. So please don’t send messages or share content that you wouldn’t want someone to save or share.
Lastly, when you contact Support (content and communications shared with Support) or our Safety team, or communicate with us in any other way, including through our research efforts (like responses to surveys, consumer panels, or other research questions) we’ll collect whatever information you provide or that we need to resolve your question.
Information We Generate When You Use Our Services
When you use our Services, we collect information about how you use our Services. This helps us better understand the way our community uses our Services so that we can make improvements.
This includes usage information (information about how you interact with our Services — for example, the time, frequency and duration of your activities on Airview) and content information (information about content you create or provide, and metadata — for example, information about the content itself like the date and time it was posted and who viewed it).
This also includes device information (such as your hardware or software, operating system, device memory, advertising identifiers, apps installed, browser type, information from device sensors that measure the motion of your device or compasses and microphones, including whether you have headphones connected, and information about your wireless and mobile connections), location information (IP address), information collected by cookies and similar technologies, depending on your settings, (cookies, web beacons (small graphic data that recognize user activity, such as if and how often a user has visited a website), web storage, unique advertising identifiers), and log information (such as details about how you’ve used our Services, access times, pages viewed, IP address, and unique identifiers like cookies). We may receive location information from you when you create your account or when you post content by deriving an approximate location based on your IP address.
If you’ve explicitly granted device-level permissions, device information may also include information about your images and other information from your device’s camera, photos, and microphone (like the ability to take photos, videos, view stored photos and videos, and access the microphone to record audio while recording video).
Data We Receive From Others
The last category of data we collect is information about you that we may receive from others, such as other users and third parties. This includes data relating to potential violations of our Terms (we may receive information from third parties, including website publishers, social network providers, law enforcement, and others, about potential violators of our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines).
Other Information, With Your Permission
Additionally, there may be instances when you interact with our Services that we will ask your permission to collect additional information. For example, before accessing your device’s camera roll.
This section explains how we use the information we collect. Among other things, we use the information we collect to provide you with personalized products and Services that we work hard to build and improve. Below, we walk through each purpose for which we use information in detail.
Keep Things Up & Running (i.e., operate, deliver, and maintain our Services)
We use the information we collect in order to operate, deliver, and maintain our Services. For example, when you create a post, we will use your IP address to estimate your general location in order to display your post on the Trending map. We also use some of your information to help keep our products up to date, for example to make sure that our Services work with the latest operating systems and devices.
Personalize Your Experience & Give Context
We offer personalized Services to our users. One of the ways we do this is by showing you content that is relevant to you or we think you may enjoy based on the information you share with us. To do so, we use information about you across different areas of the Services in order to add context to your experience. For example, we automatically tag content with labels based on the content, your location, or the time of day. So if there's a dog in the photo, it may be searchable in “Search” by the term “dog” or, show up on the Trending Map at the location where you created the post.
Our goal is to continuously provide you with more relevant and interesting content.
We believe it is critical to also balance the benefits of personalization with our users’ expectations of privacy. For example, we may automatically tag the content you post based on the content within it (e.g., the post contained a dog), and then use that tag to personalize your experience or make recommendations. We do not use the private content and communications you send to your friends to personalize your experience or make recommendations.
Develop & Improve Features, Algorithms & Machine Learning Models
Our teams are constantly coming up with new ideas for features and ways to improve our Services. In order to do this, we also develop and improve the algorithms and machine learning models (an expression of an algorithm that combs through significant amounts of data to find patterns or make predictions) that make our features and Services work, including through generative AI features (artificial intelligence capable of generating images using generative models. Generative AI models learn the patterns and structure of their input training data and then generate new data that has similar characteristics). We use algorithms and machine learning models for personalization, safety and security, fairness and inclusivity, and to prevent abuse or other Terms of Use violations.
Your information can help us decide what kind of improvements we should make, but we are always focused on privacy — and we don’t want to use more of your personal information than necessary to develop our features and models.
Analytics
In order to understand what to build or how to improve our Services, we need to understand trends and demand for our features. Studying data from our users can help us see trends in the ways that people use the Services. This helps inspire us to improve Airview on a larger scale. We perform analytics in order to identify, monitor, and analyze trends and usage. Based on this information, we will, among other things, create information about our users to help us understand demand.
Research
We conduct research to better understand general consumer interests, trends, and how our Services are used by you and others in our community. This information, along with analytics (as we described above), helps us understand more about our community and about how our Services fits into the lives of those in our community. We also engage in research and development to develop new techniques and technologies (e.g., new machine learning models).The results of our research are sometimes used in features on Airview.
Enhance the Safety & Security of Our Services
We use your information to enhance the safety and security of our Services, verify user identity, and prevent fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity. For example, we can send you an email if we notice any suspicious activity.
Contacting You
Sometimes we’ll get in touch with you to promote new or existing features. This includes sending communications through Airview or email. For example, we may use the Airview app or email to share information about our Services and promotional offers that we think may interest you.
Other times, we need to communicate with you to provide information, alerts, or to send messages our users ask us to deliver at their request. This may include sending communications through Airview or email, to deliver account status updates, security alerts, activity updates on content you may have posted and Chat or follower reminders.
Support
When you ask for help, we want to get you support as quickly as possible. In order to provide you with the help needed to resolve issues with our Services, we often need to use the information we have collected to respond.
Enforce Our Terms & Policies
We use the data we collect to enforce our Terms and the law. This includes enforcing, investigating, and reporting conduct that violates our Terms, policies, or the law, responding to requests from law enforcement, and complying with legal requirements. For example, when unlawful content is posted on our Services, we may need to enforce our Terms and other policies. In some cases, we may also use or share your information to cooperate with law enforcement requests, escalate safety issues to law enforcement, industry partners, or others, or comply with our legal obligations.
This section explains who we share information with, what that information may include, and the reasons for sharing that information, including when we need to transfer it outside of the country it was collected from.

International Data Transfers
Airview, Inc. is based in the United States and we process and store information on servers located in the United States. The objective of our Services is to connect you with your friends around the world. To make that possible, we may collect your personal information from, transfer it to, and store and process it in the United States or other countries outside of where you live depending on a variety of factors including the location of our users and service providers. Whenever we share information outside of where you live, we ensure safeguards are in place to protect the data as required by law where you live.
In this section we provide you with information on how long we keep your information, why we keep your information, and also highlight how we may need to keep your information to comply with laws, courts, and other obligations.
As a general rule, we keep information as long as you tell us to, and otherwise as long as we need it to provide our Services, or as required by law. Whether we retain your data depends on the specific feature, your settings, and how you’re using the Services. Here are some more factors we consider when we decide how long to keep your information:
In some cases we need to comply with legal requirements to store your data which stops us from deleting your information. For example, if we receive a notice from a court asking us to keep a copy of your content. Other reasons we may be required to keep a copy of your data are if we get reports of abuse or other Terms or policy violations, or if your account, content created by you, or content created with other users is flagged by others or our systems for abuse or other Terms or policy violations. Finally, we may also keep certain information in backup for a limited period of time or as required by law.

How long does it take to delete your information?
If you request that we delete your account or content, it may take up to 90 days to delete your information after we begin the account deletion process or receive a content deletion request. After the information is deleted, it may take us up to another 90 days to remove it from backups and disaster recovery.
Control over your information and settings is a core part of the Airview experience. Here, we give you more details on the types of settings that are available, and provide instructions on how to delete data or your account.
We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide you with a range of tools, including:
Users in the EEA and UK have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of their personal data; to data portability in certain circumstances; to request restriction of processing; to object to processing; and to withdraw consent for processing where they have previously provided consent. These rights can be exercised as described in the "Control Over Your Information” section above. EEA users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
As required by applicable law, we collect and process information about individuals in the EEA and UK only where we have a legal basis for doing so. Our legal bases depend on the Services you use and how you use them. We process your information on the following legal bases:

Airview does not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information except to provide you the Services or as otherwise permitted by the CCPA.
You may exercise your rights to access, delete, or correct your personal information as described in the "Control Over Your Information" section of this notice. When you make a request, we will verify your identity by asking you to sign into your account or if necessary by requesting additional information from you. You may also make a rights request using an authorized agent. If you submit a rights request from an authorized agent who does not provide a valid power of attorney, we may ask the authorized agent to provide proof that you gave the agent signed permission to submit the request to exercise rights on your behalf. In the absence of a valid power of attorney, we may also require you to verify your own identity directly with us or confirm to us that you otherwise provided the authorized agent permission to submit the request. Our Services are directed to individuals 13 years and older.
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and you must confirm that you are 13 years or older in order to create an account and use our Services. If we have actual knowledge that you are under the age of 13 (or the minimum age at which a person may use the Services in your state, province, or country without parental consent, if greater), we will stop providing Services to you and delete your account and data.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time, and will give you a heads up if we make any changes we think you should know about.
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. But when we do, we’ll let you know one way or another. Sometimes, we’ll let you know by revising the date at the top of the Privacy Policy that’s available on our website and mobile application. Other times, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our websites’ homepages or providing you with an in-app notification).

These Terms of Use (or "Terms") govern your use of Airview, except where we expressly state that separate terms (and not these) apply, and provide information about the Airview Service (the "Service"), outlined below. When you create an Airview account or use Airview, you agree to these terms.

We agree to provide you with the Airview Service. The Service includes all of the Airview products, features, applications, services, technologies, and software that we provide to advance Airview's mission. The Service is made up of the following aspects:
Your privacy matters to us. You can learn how your information is handled when you use our Services by reading our Privacy Policy. You must agree to the Privacy Policy to use Airview.
In return for our commitment to provide the Service, we require you to make the below commitments to us.
Who Can Use Airview. We want our Service to be as open and inclusive as possible, but we also want it to be safe, secure, and in accordance with the law. So, we need you to commit to a few restrictions in order to be part of the Airview community.
How You Can't Use Airview. Providing a safe and open Service for a broad community requires that we all do our part.
Permissions You Give to Us. As part of our agreement, you also give us permissions that we need to provide the Service.

following claims don't have to be arbitrated and may be brought in court: disputes related to intellectual property (like copyrights and trademarks), violations of our Platform Policy, or efforts to interfere with the Service or engage with the Service in unauthorized ways (for example, automated ways). In addition, issues relating to the scope and enforceability of the arbitration provision are for a court to decide.
This arbitration provision is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
You can opt out of this provision within 30 days of the date that you agreed to these Terms. If you are a California resident, in accordance with Cal. Civ. We always appreciate feedback or other suggestions, but may use them without any restrictions or obligation to compensate you for them, and are under no obligation to keep them confidential.
We may change our Service and policies, and we may need to make changes to these Terms so that they accurately reflect our Service and policies. Unless otherwise required by law, we will notify you (for example, through our Service) before we make changes to these Terms and give you an opportunity to review them before they go into effect. Then, if you continue to use the Service, you will be bound by the updated Terms. If you do not want to agree to these or any updated Terms, you can delete your account, by reaching out to support@airviewapp.com.

To support our mission, we created these Community Guidelines to encourage the broadest range of self-expression, while striving to make sure our community can use our services safely every day. We want these Guidelines to be clear and understandable for all members of our community. Please note that in order to join our community, you must be at least 13 years old. By using Airview, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Use.
These Guidelines apply to all content (which includes your username and display name, all forms of communication, like text, images, generative AI, emojis, and other creative tools) or behavior on Airview — and to all users. We are particularly sensitive to content or behavior that poses a risk of severe harm to our users, and reserve the right to take immediate, permanent action against users engaging in such behavior.
Airview offers generative AI features through our services. We implement safeguards designed to help keep generative AI content in line with our Community Guidelines, and we expect users to use AI responsibly. We reserve the right to take appropriate enforcement action against accounts that use AI to violate our Community Guidelines, up to and including the possible termination of an account.
We've outlined here and in our Terms of Use specific rules for content that is prohibited on Airview, and we work to ensure these rules are applied consistently. When applying these rules, we take into account the nature of the content, including whether it is newsworthy, factual, and relates to a matter of political, social, or other general concern to our community.
We want Airview to be a safe and positive experience for everyone. We reserve the right to decide, at our sole discretion, what content or behavior violates the spirit of our rules.

Please remember that you can always submit a report to our Trust & Safety team using our in-app reporting features or by reaching out to support@airviewapp.com. We review these reports to determine violations of these Guidelines. If you violate these Community Guidelines, we may remove the offending content, terminate or limit the visibility of your account, and/or notify law enforcement. We also refer information to law enforcement when activity poses an imminent threat to human life. If your account is terminated for violating these Guidelines, you are not allowed to use Airview again or circumvent this termination in any way.
Airview reserves the right to remove or restrict account access for users whom we have reason to believe, in our sole discretion, pose a danger to others, on or off of Airview. These include leaders of hate groups and terrorist organizations, individuals with a reputation for inciting violence or perpetrating severe harms against others, or behavior that we believe poses a threat to human life. In evaluating such behavior, we may consider guidance from other sources, such as subject matter experts or law enforcement, in determining whether to remove or restrict account access.
